High-Speed Materials Discovery

In my Online Experience class, we had to choose from 10 articles about emerging technologies. I chose the high-speed materials discovery because according to this article, they are able to find thousands more possible combinations of materials that can be used to make batteries more efficient, powerful, and smaller. I was surprised when they said that they are able to process 3,000 possible combinations every week, which could easily mean that they could've found several combinations already that would make current batteries better. If that is true, then batteries could constantly be improved and replaced since they could be finding more and more efficient battery combinations. Also, as part of our assignment, we were told to look at the emerging technologies of 2009 to see if any of those technologies were being used today. While reading an article about an intelligent software assistant, they were talking about "Siri" which is an intelligent software program that is currently being used by the Apple iPhone.
